I have been so impressed with the growth that I have seen in class 71FI this year.  They have shown an incredible amount of improvement in many many ways.  For example, today when they came into class, many students gave me the signature form from the February Feedback progress report immediately, even before I asked for it.  Many students came into the room quietly and began reading their novels quietly or working on their next article assignment. Some students went to the library to renew their books or to get a new novel to read because they found the one that they had chosen to be too difficult or not very interesting.

Students are showing respect for one another.  Students are being mature and responsible. Students are taking ownership for their learning in new ways.

I know that I maintain a very high standard for my students and that sometimes there is a level of frustration among students.  I keep high expectations because I sincerely believe that students are able to meet these and are able to impress themselves and the adults in their life with the progress that they show.  Class 71FI this year has met and exceeded my expectations in many ways.  Merci bien, les enfants!

It is a sincere pleasure and a joy to teach this group of students.  I love their enthusiasm and their energy.  I love the growth that they have seen.  It is on days like today that I am excited to be a teacher.  It is an honour to spend time with young men and women like these, so be an observer of their growth and their journey toward adulthood.

I shared with the class today all of these thoughts in order to celebrate their successes and encourage them to keep moving in the same direction.  Please reinforce all their good work with positive comments at home.
