From time to time, we get feedback from the high school math teachers here at Aldershot.  They generally report that our students are very well prepared for grade nine math.  I am sure that the students of class 81FI have been taught the important things that are required to lay a good foundation for future math learning.

The one thing that is quite new in grade nine is the idea of "slope",  "pente" en français.  This is an extension of our Patterning and Algebra unit in first semester in which we created graphs on a Cartesian plane based on linear algebraic expressions.  In order to help students be ready for the idea of "slope" next year, we will spend some time in the computer lab become more familiar with this concept.  Below are a few lessons and videos from websites that may be helpful.  You may also want to look up others.
